New Improvements to Boost Your Job Visibility on Partner Sites (Indeed, LinkedIn, Google for Jobs & more)
We have released two small, yet, important updates designed to help you optimize your job postings, improve your SEO, and increase your visibility on major partner job boards. These enhancements give you more control over how your job postings appear online and help ensure your roles meet platform-specific requirements—especially on Indeed, whose algorithm can be very strict.
1) New Indeed "Job Title" Field for Better Compatibility
We have added a new Job Title (for Indeed specifically) field to the requisition form.
This field exists because Indeed uses a unique algorithm to evaluate job titles, and may block or downgrade postings if your job titles includes:
Company names
Salary information
Location details
Internal codes or abbreviations or
Anything that is not considered a real, standard job title (the kind you would see on a business card)
If your job title does not meet their requirements, your posting may NOT appear on Indeed or its partner networks via Indeed PLUS.
Thanks to this new field, you can now customize your Indeed-specific job title to match their best practices while still keeping your original job title for all other platforms.
What happens to the existing "Job Title" field?
Nothing changes.
Your original Job Title field continues to be used on all our partner job sites except Indeed and Indeed PLUS.
You may still include a few additional keywords, brand terms, or location-related wording to improve SEO on those platforms—just avoid salary details and internal acronyms that could confuse job seekers.
A good rule of thumb is to ask yourself:
“If I were the ideal candidate, what would I type in Google or ChatGPT to find this job?”
Use clear, meaningful keywords that match candidate search behavior.
2) New "Job Sub-Categories" to Improve Visibility & Candidate Targeting
To help you create more precise and relevant job postings, we have expanded our job classification by adding new job sub-categories under each main existing job category.
What does this change mean for you?
The "job categories" field located on the requisition form has become mandatory. We have noticed that, in the past, many forgot to select job categories which greatly impacted the exposure of their job listings. To make sure users never forget to select them, you now must select at least 1 before you can publish your job posting online. ⚠️
You can now select up to 7 categories (main + sub-categories), instead of only 3 in the past. ⚠️
Your job postings will be indexed under more specific and relevant categories on major job platforms (HirePlanner.com, Indeed, Indeed PLUS, LinkedIn, etc.).
Candidates will find your jobs more easily when filtering by specialty or functional area.
Your job content will become more structured, accurate, and optimized for SEO.
This enhancement will not only boost your visibility but also improve your targeting, increasing your chances of attracting more qualified candidates.
